Neo Tango Theme of this weekend
This weekend we focus on the evolution of Tango from traditional to Neo Tango. Neo Tango has its roots in traditional tango and Tango Nuevo and it is now danced all over the world as a form of social, improvised tango.
We will dance to different neotango orchestras with various atmospheres, so that you will master the improvisation to the different styles of music, from rhythmical to lyrical.
This weekend we will focus on some very specific Neo Tango movements such as colgadas, leg wraps and boleos and we will also learn how to adapt and improvise with the traditional movements of tango to Neo Tango music.
Which combinations are wonderful to dance to different styles of Neo Tango music: subdued, tranquil or playful and creative.
And as always, in our classes attention to: connection within the couple, flow of the movements, precision and styling in the footwork, and suggestions and ideas for adornments (adornos).
On Saturday night we organize a festive New Years Milonga with a toast & a demo by M&C. The music in the workshops will be 100% NeoTango, and the music at the Milonga will be 50/50 Traditional/Neo.

Dancing & teaching together since 25 years!
Born in Buenos Aires and growing up with tango as his parents were professional tangodancers, Mariano chose tango as his path in life when he was only 17 years old. He studied intensively with the great masters of the Golden Era, among the most influential: Antonio Todaro, Pepito Avellaneda y Gilda Suzuki, and his parents Lalo Díaz Meza y Mirta Campos.
Cosima also started her tango journey when she was 17 years old, studying tango violin for one year at the World Music devision of the Rotterdam Conservatorium, section Tango Argentino. She studied fysiotherapy and after her graduation in 2001 she she started dancing tango Argentino, met Mariano on the dance floor, and the rest is history.
Together Mariano y Cosima are a unique dance couple with their elegant, refined and natural style of dancing, always placing the music in first focus.
They are passionate teachers combining Mariano's Argentine roots and profound knowledge of the history of tango dance & music with Cosima's in depth experience with healthy movements and postures.
