Orquesta Típica Pugliesiana La Barra 

A unique project, dedicated to the music of Osvaldo Pugliese

La Barra convincingly and authentically captures the lush sound of Pugliese's orchestra. Extremely expressive, with strong rhythms and affectionate melodies. Listening to La Barra is an overwhelming experience. Intense, too: a tango by Pugliese is like an opera by Wagner, but in three minutes. Tangos like Gallo ciego, Nochero soy, Zum, and Malandraca have been reproduced by many groups, but no group knows how to grasp the essence of Pugliese like La Barra.

Pugliese has a lasting influence on tango in the 21st century. The sound of Buenos Aires today can be found in the tango de ruptura created by Julián Peralta and Mariano González Calo (Astillero). The five tangos on the La Barra album IMPERFECTO are composed by bandoneon player Gerard van Duinen.

La Barra is based in The Netherlands and performs in concert halls en milonga’s. In 2025 La Barra was the invited orchestra during the Stockholm Pugliese Weekend in Sweden.

Marinella is multifaceted artist who manages to combine various expressive forms in her path.

As a tango dj she wishes to contribute to this magic communication proposing the suitable tanda selection enriched by the energy of her cortinas.

When she is musicalizing, she manages to give her sensitivity as an artist, with the same force as when she paint, make choreographies, or dances.

Dancing tango - is not simply referring to steps and figures but to feeling - is a wonderful communion that has to do with something deep, essential, that can occur with a leader and a follower in tune with a music and a lyrics.

We have invited videographer Joshua van 't Hoff to capture our dance performance with La Barra live in Musis Sacrum! 

To create an unforgettable memory with all the guest at the event, Joshua will also record a full tanda together with La Barra live! 

Joshua van 't Hoff (1987) is an independent film director and producer from the Netherlands, who is also active as a scenarist, cinematographer, editor and actor. Born and raised in the city of Haarlem, filmmaking was early in his life; by bringing a video camera to high school he wanted to capture moments and portray individuals, by making videos with his siblings or friends he wanted to entertain. He discovered all stages of film production during a project for his higher education in journalism at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, which made him realize that this art would become both his passion as well as his profession.
